~A Web Site That Is Bad For Business~

Don't forget to update your web site!

As the trend toward technology and the web for real estate professionals and businesses alike are growing increasingly each month, the need for a web presence seems more important then ever if you are survive in this every changing market.

A web site gives your business a wide presence and hopefully a chance to increase revenue. It is suppose to be  a way to sell yourself and your company and attract new business.

But, did you know that your web site can also harm your business and your reputation? At a recent sales meeting I attended here in Reno, Nevada, we were informed from our local area marketing experts, that if you do not maintain your web site, keep it current and up to date, you could actually be hurting your business.

There are a couple of things that I thought would be helpful for real estate agents to keep in mind if they have a web site:

1) Always maintain your listings! Never let a listing on your web site expire and don't forget to indicate if sold or no longer available.

2)Make sure all articles and statistics are up to date. If your article and statistics are dated for the previous month, remove them or update them.

3)Periodically click on the links provided as they change or are removed completely.

4)It never hurts to add new photos and change the format. Refresh!

These are a few that were covered that I thought were helpful and easy hints at keeping your web site up to date.
