National Multiple Sclerosis Society

This Holiday Season you can help eradicate Multiple Sclerosis just by clicking on a site created by the good folks at Brainstorm.

For every "pull" on the gift tag, Brainstorm will donate 25 cents to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

It costs you nothing but a few moments of your time and it's really quite a cute way they are sharing their holiday wishes.

Please take a few moments, give the tag a pull and let's help Brainstorm achieve their donation goal.

Pull The Tag Now!

This is a no-brainer folks. Please re-blog, tell your friends, pull the tag numerous times....Whatever. Just do it!

~The Homes for the Holidays Home Tour~

~~The 16th annual Homes for the Holidays Home Tour~~

The Homes for the Holidays Home Tour is a one-of-a-kind fundraiser  that provides exclusive tours of some of Reno's finest homes while benefiting women and children who have been affected by substance abuse.

The tour is  December 6th & 7th from 10am to 3:30pm.

Showcased homes open their doors to give you an up close and personal look at stunning architecture and decor. The homes are  professionally decorated for the holidays. Guests from past tours have said they were left mesmerized and stunned after seeing the beautifully decorated homes.

The Homes for the Holidays Home Tour began 16 years ago and targeted mostly real estate agents in the Reno area. Touring the homes gave agents the advantage of viewing homes that were not listed for sale while giving them an opportunity to see inside different homes and neighborhoods.

Today, as this event has grown, more and more community members enjoy this annual event and look forward to it each holiday season.

The tours are presented by STEP 2. Step 2 is treatment program designed to help children and women suffering from chemical addiction, poverty and domestic violence become self sufficient through treatment services and skills training.

It  is a comprehensive residential and out-patient treatment program that provides women and their children suffering from chemical addiction, poverty and domestic violence the opportunity to rebuild their lives.

Self sufficiency is achieved through integrated treatment services and skills training provided at STEP2 including, housing, childcare, family management, transportation, employment counseling and healthy living.

Comprehensive case management services are also provided and clients are given the opportunity to explore additional community resources to meet the ongoing needs of the family.

I need your help Active Rain : Just one moment of your time

After reading this story about Childhood Cancer I wanted to help. The first step I am taking is to re-blog this story and hope it will reach a few more people.

Education and awareness are the first steps to solving many problems as well as finding cures and solutions.

Thank you for taking the time to read this story and for your support.

Via Anita Beach - Real Estate Professional Maple Valley, WA:

I'm going to put myself out there and be pretty venerable, but here is goes....

My 12 year old daughter is battling a horrible disease as some of you may all ready know, if you don't, I posted a blog a few months back that you can check out if you want. If not, she has a malignant brain tumor and as her mother, it's a very hard thing to deal with. I can't kiss it and make it better, so I try to do everything that I can to be an advocate for her and many other children that have to go through it.

The purpose of this blog is to help bring awareness to such a horrible disease. I have met some amazing people through this jouney that continue to be helpful and supportive. With the permission of AJ's Dad I am posting the following petition to help bring awareness to Childhood Cancer. All I am asking of you in return is to read the petition and sign it to help us reach the goal! Anyone with an email address can sign it, please take one moment and sign the petition and let them know that I sent you.

This blog is a great resource for me and I'm hoping to tap into the generosity of my fellow bloggers and help bring awareness at the same time. I hope by posting this blog I get signatures for the petition and I also get a real since of camaraderie from my fellow bloggers. Won't you please sign the petition - don't make me beg!

MY GOAL IS TO GET 100 PEOPLE OFF OF ACTIVE RAIN TO SIGN THE PETITION!!!

Did you know...

Childhood Cancer is the #1 killer disease of our children, more than from asthma, diabetes, cystic fibrosis, congenital anomalies and pediatric AIDS combined!

1 in 300 children will be diagnosed with cancer before the age of 20!

Each year 3,000 children die and 35-40,000 are in treatment

The National Cancer Institutes federal budget was $4.6 billion - all the 12 major groups of pediatric cancer combined, received less than 3%.

YOUcan help make a difference - won't you please sign the petition
