Through social media we create relationships and build our reputations, online!

If you have created an online presence for yourself, before people even go to your business website to search for homes or to find a real estate agent, they've already learned more about you from Facebook, twitter, your blog, ActiveRain, and probably have already made of their minds whether or not they will contact you.
The more you put yourself out into the social media world, the more likely you are to attract clients who feel connected long before the first email is sent or the first phone call is made.
Once you have taken the first step and signed up on a few social media sites, take the next step and start to build yourself as more than just a Realtor, begin to market yourself as a "go to resource" of sorts. As traditional media slowly dies, posting important, local, quality information will help build and create relationships. Remember, a good Realtor is often the best source to get information about your neighborhood.

The above information has been talked about, in one way or another, in just about every class or webinar I have taken over the last couple of years. Slowly I have built my online presence on Facebook, Twitter, ActiveRain and LinkedIn. Of course there are others, these are sites I update and post to the most.
I still sign up for these types of classes as I find them, I always learn something new no matter what class or webinar I take. I strongly encourage you to find and sign up for as many social media classes your find, you won't believe the information others are willing share!
You are probably asking yourself "is this true and does social media realy create and build relationships that will in turn help build my business?" The answer is...most likely! If you keep things professional yet slightly personal, keep your followers and readers informed on current events and relevant information, you can build your business.
My most recent clients have found me from either my blog or from a friend of a friend on Facebook! I am closing more this year because of social media than any other year in my real estate career. I learn from others and I try to incorporate what I learn into my blogging, my business Facebook page and in my life. Social media works for me and it can work for you too!
