"Where to Retire Magazine" has put Reno, Nevada on its top 10 list of great places to retire. The magazine is designed to help people find places to retire to, taking finances, housing availability and quality of life into consideration.

Reno Nevada

In its July/August issue, Where to Retire  named 10 locations across the country, but it does not rank them. The retirement-friendly locations featured are Reno, Nevada; Portland, Maine; Greenville, S.C., Boise, Idaho; Sussex County, Del,; Asheville, N.C.; Chattanooga, Tenn; Kalispepp, Mon; Spokane, Wash and Greenley, CO.

Lake Tahoe

A few of the reasons why, I believe, Reno selected as one of the 10 top places to retire are:

The area's great location! Reno is surround by snow capped mountains that makes for a picturesque setting 12 months out of the year. Reno is within an hours drive to  majestic Lake Tahoe, Virgina City, Carson City and Gardnerville.

Reno has a thriving arts and music community. Arttown is an annual event that comes to Reno each July that brings art, culture, music and the community together.

Reno Balloon races

The Reno Aces Triple A Baseball team; the University of Nevada, Reno; The National Automobile Museum; The Nevada Museum of Art; River Festivals, The Great Reno Balloon Races and the Reno National Air Races together make Reno a fun and desirable place to retire to.

Affordable housing also makes Reno a great place to retire to. If you are interested in the latest Reno, Nevada market statistics, the following links will show you how the Reno market is doing.
