Sand Harbor Lake Tahoe

The Lake Tahoe Shakespeare summer festival is considered one of Northern Nevada's premier cultural events. This year marks the 37th season of this "mom and pop festival" that is being held at Sand Harbor on the eastern shore of Lake Tahoe.

The festival season runs from now until August 23, 2009 with a performance starting at 7:30 p.m. sharp every night of the week.

This year the playbill includes Shakespeare's "Measure for Measure" and "Much Ado About Nothing" starring professional theater performers.

In addition, on Monday nights the Urban Village Music Series will present a series of musical perforamances from various artists.

The back drop of Sand Harbor is beautiful Lake Tahoe. Lake Tahoe is considered one of the most beautiful lakes in the world and is located right here in Northern Nevada!

Lake Tahoe Shakespeare FestivalMy girlfriends and I like a make it at least one play a year, sometimes more when we have time. Last week we decided to take off work early and get some sun time in as well.

Although there were a few clouds when we arrived, by late afternoon the sky was clear, the wind was calm and we were ready to enjoy evening with Shakespeare!

While attending the play, visitors get to enjoy gourmet dining that you can pre-order yourself through Shakespeare's Kitchen, or dine on ribs, tri-tip steak, salads, deserts and coffee from one of the gourmet food vendors on site before the show begins.  Most locals prefer to pack a picnic to enjoy on the beach before the show begins and enjoy all the deserts and coffee during intermission.

Tickets for the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival can be ordered online or by calling 1-800-74-SHOWS. Admission prices very depending on day of the week, where you want to sit and on age, there is a discount for children under the age 15. Be sure to call or order your tickets in advance to guarantee you a seat.

So, where can you find first class theater, gourmet dining and white sand beaches? Right here in Northern Nevada, of course!! The Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival at Sand Harbor, Incline Village, Nevada!
