Put Your Best Foot Forward And Donate Your Shoes For Feet UP

Step Up and donate the shoes you no longer wear to those who need them!

Starting today, March 15, 2011, Think Kindness, an non-profit organization that inspires young people across the county to incorporate acts of kindness into their daily lives, and thousands of Washoe County students are challenging the Reno / Sparks communities to collect more than 100,000 pairs of shoes in less than 30 days for those in need via Change the World!

All collected shoes will be distributed locally with the remaining shoes distributed around the world. The Soles4Souls organization be handling the process of getting the shoes to where they are needed the most.

*****The latest Think Kindness Facebook update says that Soles4Souls will be donating shoes to help the TSUNAMI VICTIMS in JAPAN!!****

Be a part of the Feet UP program along with 10,000 other Washoe County Students and community members to help reach their goal of bringing in 100,000 pair of shoes in 30 days. The vision of Think Kindness is to bring everyone together to achieve one big act of kindness. Each pair of shoes donated represents one act of kindness.

Barefoot Sunday is one event where local churches will be collecting shoes. This event takes place April 4, 2011, participants will be wearing shoes to church but will be leaving barefoot. Sounds like fun, doesn't it?

Each event will need volunteers and shoe donations. At the end of the month, all 100,000 shoes collected will need to be separated and prepared for distribution. If this is something that might interest you, can call 775-636-8026.

I have many pairs and would like to get them to shoeless folks.  Will give to our local Salvation Army or one of our many thrift stores for needy.

This is really cool.  It appears to only be in your area.  Could you privately email me if it is out of area?  My daughter and I are cleaning out closets and I could give a rather large donation if you know of a drop off in the Vegas area!
