Why Sell Your Reno Home in 2013

~Why selling your Reno home now is a good idea~

Reno Home For SaleIf you are a Reno homeowner struggling with the decision of selling your home now or waiting for the market to improve, now may be the right time to sell. The real estate market here in Northern Nevada is improving but you may be one of those homeowners who still owes more than what your home is worth.

If you are like many Reno homeowners who is currently underwater on your home, or you owe more thatn what your home is worth, or maybe you have had a recent loss of income, or have tried the loan modification process or perhaps you are simply tired of wasting your money on an asset that will never recover its deficiency, you want to consider short selling your property.

Why a short sale? A short sale may be your last chance to redeem your opportunity to not have a foreclosure. A short sale in 2013 may be your last change to receive complete debt forgiveness from your mortgage servicer.

The Debt Forgiveness Act of 2007 (~ an act that gave struggling homeowners a tax relief from debt owed once a short sale was completed ~ ) that was set to expire on December 31, 2012 was extended until January 2014.

Reno Short Sales are now less complicated today than they were just a few years ago. Decisions regarding your home mortgage are quicker and many homeowners are being offered assistance for relocation's. These incentives make short selling your Reno home more reasonable than ever.

Another great reason to consider selling today is that we are currently in a sellers market. Houses in Northern Nevada are selling like hotcakes regardless of being a distressed sale or not. Home buyers are lining up to make offers on newly listed homes for sale. Interest rates remain low and lenders are working to help buyers get qualified by assisting with credit repair work.

Hi, Terrie...You're right, the short sale process has come a long way. It can still be a wait and there's more room for improvement, but it's a lot better than it was a few years ago.
