Selling Reno And Sparks Real Estate Blog: The Sparks Marina of Northern Nevada

The Sparks Marina of Northern Nevada

A great place to live and family fun year round!

The Sparks Marina! Located at 300 Howard Drive, Sparks, Nevada.

Included in its 80+ acres is a lake, great for fishing, boating, swimming, scuba diving and sailing, a 2 mile walking trail, a dog park, a fishing pier, 2 beaches, 2 sand volleyball courts, showers, snack bar, 2 playgrounds, and ample benches and picnic tables.

The Sparks Marina RV Park offers hookups, restrooms, showers, a swimming pool and a store.

Some say the greatest feature of the Marina is its location. Just 10 minutes from downtown Reno, just off interstate 80 and 4 minutes from downtown Sparks.

Others say the best part of the Marina is its 2 mile walking trail. Get there early in the morning and you will notice the beauty of the marina, its quiet and glass like lake will make you want to add walking or running along the trail as one of your favorite things to do in Sparks.

Bring your dog and let it run and play at the Marina's dog park.

Fishing is very popular with the locals. The Marina is filled with trout but you have got to get up early to catch the big one, so I am told. You can fish from the fishing dock, from shore, from inter-tube or boat, (no gas engines please). Don't forget you need a Nevada fishing license before you drop your line in.

Swimming is permitted at the Marina, but only in the designated swim areas. The months to swim with the on duty  lifeguard is May through October. There are two beaches to choose from. Bring your friends and family and start a volleyball game on one of the two beach volleyball courts. Bring a picnic or eat at the concession stand. They have great pretzels with cheese.

If swimming or fishing is not your thing, why not take a scuba diving class or learn to sail?

The building in the background of this picture is where you will find the restaurants and shops.

Come and enjoy live music under the stars while you have dinner at one of the Marina's restaurants.

Or workout at a gym with a personal trainer, buy your dog a treat at the pet store.

And finally, lets talk about the unique housing available at the Marina.

You will not be able to find waterfront homes like these  anywhere else in the Reno/Sparks area. You can get a home overlooking the Marina with views of the surrounding mountains or you can purchase a home with a canal as a backyard and keep your sailboat tied up just steps away from your home.

These tri-level and two story homes were very popular and sold out  quickly when being built in the early 2000's.

They range in size, from  approx. 2100 to 3100 square feet, they offer 3 to 4 bedrooms, 2+ bathrooms, and did I mention they have great views and are in a great location.

There are several  homes currently for sale, ranging in price from $399,000 to $645,000, depending on size and lot.

Recent sales show homes have sold from the high $400,000's to the high $600,000's over the last 6 months.

If you are interested in seeing one of these homes or any home in the Reno/Sparks area, please feel feel to contact me, your Northern Nevada Realtor, at 775-846-5424!
