~~Sparks Hometowne Christmas Celebration on Victorian Avenue~~

The 22nd annual celebration is being held this Saturday and will once again provide family fun, entertainment, photos with Santa, Christmas carols and a tree-lighting ceremony.
Olympic swimmer Natalie Coughlin will serve as this years Grand Marshal for the Hometown Christmas Parade that begins at 1 p.m. on Victorian Avenue. Natalie earned six medals at the 2008 Beijing Summer Games and five medals at the 2004 Athens Games.
The parade will travel east to west along Victorian Avenue from 1 to 3p.m.
Immediately following the parade, attendees are invited to watch the Cami Thompson and Friends perform "Christmas Caroles Come to Life" show on the main stage, next to the Saint Mary's Amphitheater. Outdoor seating and heater lamps will be provided for this 75-minute musical production.
Beginning at 4:15 p.m., the Reed High School Intermezzo Choir will be performing Christmas songs on the main stage.
Enjoy Arts/Crafts Booths, Food Vendors, Live Entertainment, all starting at Noon and ending at 5p.m.

The day's events conclude with the Tree Lighting Ceremony from 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. You will want to stay and see this 60 foot Douglas Fir from Garibaldi, Oregon light up the sky with Christmas lights.
The Sparks Hometowne Christmas Celebration is a great way to kick off your Holiday Season. So come out and enjoy the season in Sparks, Nevada this Saturday, December 6, 2008. Be sure to dress in layers as it will be warm during the day by cools off quickly once the sun goes down!

I am going! I usually try to make it each year. We go later and catch the end of the parade and stay for the tree lighting...that's the best part!!
