"The Ultimate Rush" turns out to be "The Ultimate Birthday Present!"
I am still amazed that Alec and Kenna turned 12 on December 30, 2008. Alec and Kenna are my only two children. Next year they will start middle school. They are defiantly growing up.
A few years back I decided they were getting old enough and they did not need to have a "birthday party" every year. This year was their off year which meant they had to celebrate their birthday with their parents!
We celebrated by going to "The Outback Steak House," their choice, of course. Before we went to dinner they said they had always wanted to go on "The Ultimate Rush" at The Grand Sierra Resort, in Reno, Nevada.
"The Ultimate Rush" combines sky diving, bungee jumping and hang-gliding all in one ride! You are hoisted to the top of a 180 foot skycoaster where the chosen person in your party will "pull" the ripcord. You will then free fall and fly thru the air at over 65 mph. Sounds like quite a rush, doesn't it?
Below are the pictures and a quick video of Alec and Kenna's Ultimate Rush, which by the way, turned out to be the Ultimate Birthday Present!

Alec and Kenna getting geared up and ready to go....Yes, the guys know what they are doing, right?

"O.K. mom, we are ready please stop taking our picture."

They had a blast. Please check out the video, I did not want to bore you with to many pictures.

The Ultimate Rush is located next to The Grand Sierra Resort and Casino on the corner of US 395 and Glendale Avenue, 2500 East Second Street, Reno, Nevada. 89595. Call 775-786-7005 for hours of operation. The cost of the ride is $25 per person, $10 for each additional ride.

I did one of those at Six Flags here in GA. I screamed like a little girl. Did I mention I was afraid of hieghts?... still am.
Oh goodness...not for me...I can't even get on a ferris wheel anymore. lol.
Looks like a good time is being had by all. Take care.
OMG Terrie! How did you stand there and watch??!! I would do it myself, but if I had children I'm not sure that I could watch. Good for you!
Terrie this sounds like a lot of fun to me! Scary rides, roller coasters...all that kind thing is awesome in my book!
Lanette ~ It is one scary ride. The crazy thing about this ride is that it is right next to a freeway. When they first opened there were many fender benders slowing to watch.
Bob & Carolin ~ The kids definately had a blast.
Susie ~ They loved it so it was fun watching. I am glad there were together and not with their friends, they actually seemed to be getting along!
Bill ~ A kid at heart! I am not surprised!
I sure am. I don't want to get old:)
What a blast they must have had.
I know my little one loves to go on theose puke inducing rides and she has the best time when she does!
Great birthday gift for your little ones.
Thanks Craig! The youngest child (baby) to go on this ride was 4 years old! Can you imagine! No thanks. Alec and Kenna had been nagging us to go on this thing for years so it was pretty special for them to finally do it! And no one got sick to that was nice as well!
A four year old on this ride?
I'll report parents for child abuse when they take their kids to McDonalds!!!
This ride is NOT for 4 year olds.
I agree...but they had the child's picture at the counter for proof! The oldest was a 92 year old man! You wouldn't want to go on the ride after either, would you?
Renee~ Thanks! They had a blast an were soooo appreciative! I am glad we were there for their first ride...I am sure there will be many more with friends as they get older.
I would not have been able to be present for that present! My nerves would have been shot. What an experience for them!
Sharon~ You are not a risk taker??? Kids love stuff like this don't they? Thank you for the comment.
I'll tell you what: That looks terrifying but I would totally do it if I ever got the chance. I have always wanted to go skydiving and I'm also an adrenaline junkie, so I think I would really dig doing something like that!
That first twenty feet after the release is the worst... the cable isn't really taut yet, so it just feel like something broke and you are getting ready to die. After the cable starts to pull... it is pretty cool. So, for twenty feet I screamed. The girlfriend I was with and her daughter just laughed at me. But I got them to scream in a Jeep ;^ D
Terrie-What a great birthday gift, I don't know if I could watch my 12 year old daughter do this. I bet your kids will never forget the great time they had on their 12th birthday.
Hey Terrie, what a nice birthday gift!! Did you happen to do it too?? If so I want to see a picture!
